What are the categories under Proof of Copyright Ownership that are mandatory?

It is strongly recommended that all categories be thoroughly completed, as doing so significantly strengthens and substantiates the claim of ownership over the artwork.

The prompts for Proof of Copyright Ownership are as follows:

Copyright Registration Number: This is a unique identifier assigned by the U.S. Copyright Office upon the successful registration of your artwork for copyright protection.

Is the Work Published: Indicates whether your artwork has been distributed to the public, whether through sale, transfer of ownership, rental, lease, or lending, or made available online for downloading or viewing (this can include posts on websites and social media platforms like Instagram).

Method of Publication: Specifies the format in which the artwork was first made publicly accessible.

Location of Publication: Refers to the geographic location where the work was first made available to the public, whether through distribution, sale, or public display. This could be a specific country or region.

Date of Publication: Denotes the exact date on which the work was first made available to the public, including the date of sale, distribution, or public exhibition of copies of the work.

Release Form: Also known as "Consent Forms" or "Waiver Forms," these are legal documents used to obtain permission from individuals or entities to use their image, likeness, or identifiable attributes in connection with your artwork.

Proof of Copyright per Asset: This includes various forms of documentation, such as studio images, consignment paperwork, invoices, gallery inventories, press clippings, auction listings, registration certificates, web links to auction listings, or any relevant database entries, as well as confirmations from sales teams.
